Logan family fonds. 1785-1971.

The fonds consists of correspondence, minutes, printed materials, clippings, financial records, manuscripts, and lecture notes which all reflect Logan's varied interests. The fonds includes records pertaining to Fairbridge Farm School (1930-1971), materials relating to the history of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps (1917-1967), UBC correspondence (1912-1970) and research material gathered for "Tuum Est" (1939-1958). In addition to genealogical information about the Logan family, the fonds also includes memorabilia from H.T. Logan's university career, diaries and numerous photographs relating to his World War I service, Fairbridge Farm School and his family.

Born in Londonderry, Nova Scotia, Harry Logan attended Vancouver High School. He went on to study classics at McGill University, graduating in 1908. He studied at St. John's College for three years (1908-1911) as a British Columbia Rhodes scholar. He taught classics at McGill University College of B.C., from 1913-1915, before his career was interrupted first to serve overseas during World War I and then to return to England to complete his M.A. Logan joined the Department of Classics at the Univ...
